Abbeville County Memorial Hospital

Abbeville County Health Care

Abbeville County Memorial Hospital provides some of the most modern medical facilities and services of any rural hospital in South Carolina. In August 2001 the hospital was the focus of a WYFF Channel 4 (Greenville) story on how rural hospitals provide excellent medical care to their communities.

Abbeville County Memorial Hospital is a 52-bed primary healthcare facility that offers 24-hour emergency services, ICT, pain therapy, complete surgical and radiology services, respiratory therapy, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation and a newly renovated birthing center.

The hospital plays a vital role in the community with its health related home care, industrial medicine program, Coalition for a Healthy Community and Respiratory Home Care and Foundation.

The hospital has more than 25 attending physicians. Other nearby medical facilities include: Self Memorial Hospital in Greenwood and Anderson Area Medical Center in Anderson. Within 30-miles of the City of Abbeville there are approximately 14 hospitals, 440 physicians and 1,187 hospital beds.
