West Carolina Telephone's central offices have been fully digital since October of 1993 and nearly 500 miles of fiber optic cable has been deployed.
In November 2000, West Carolina became one of the first rural telephone companies to provide high speed DSL Internet access.
Being a cooperative, member/subscribers are the owners. If there are profits made over and above those funds required for annual expenses and anticipated capital expenditures, the members can expect those dollars to be returned to them in the form of capital credit checks.
